SOU is co-ed, open to students of all majors at Virginia Tech. Full time VT students must have a minimum 3.0 GPA.
Yes! We encourage students from all majors to attend rush events and get to know our brothers. However, to join, you must receive an invitation from the current Brothers, also called a 'Bid', then complete our Pledge season favorably.
To receive a bid, the majority of the Brotherhood has to vote favorably for your admittance to pledge. To have the Brotherhood vote favorably on your behalf, they must have had an opportunity to meet you and get to know you. It is therefore recommended to attend as many rush events as possible.
Yes! SOU is classified on campus a professional fraternity, meaning that we do not compete with the social fraternities and sororities. In fact, there are no organizations at Virginia Tech that would prevent you from being a member of this fraternity.
We take pride in being a smaller business fraternity on campus since it allows us to foster an extremely close-knit bond among all our brothers. However, our focus and celebration of our cultural pillar also sets us apart by helping our brothers develop a diverse skill set and train to be global leaders.
